Soden has an enviable reputation having completed numerous projects in the sector.

We fully appreciate the Health & Safety implications of working in and around an active school.

Whether constructing a new school, refurbishing or extending an existing building, disruptive operations such as noise and pollution are kept to a minimum. Communication with the school is essential to maintain an operational environment.

CASE STUDY: Dulwich Hamlet Junior School
CLIENT: Southwark Council
VALUE:

This £700,000 contract at a prominent South East London Junior school comprised alterations of an existing Victorian building to improve the kitchen and dining room facilities. The first floor gym was converted into a multi-functional classroom area, which is accessed by a modern staircase with a resin based floor system to accommodate high traffic in these areas.
We started the demolition phase of the project during the school summer holidays to minimise general disturbance. The site was secured and closely monitored when term began.
We fitted a state-of-the-art kitchen adjoining the dining room that can accommodate a wide range of food preparation. The dining room was fitted out with collapsible wheeled furniture allowing the school to use the space with its beautiful oak floor for a variety of other uses. The space hosted the opening party for the new wing, hosted by local parents Jo Brand and james Nesbitt.
The children now are sheltered from the elements while queuing for lunch under a glass canopy fitted with self-cleaning glass, which was designed in-house.
During the 20 week contract, we liaised extensively with the Head Teacher and premises manager to ensure that our work didn’t impact on the day-to-day running of the school.
