CASE STUDY: Camden Park Activity Centre
CLIENT: Southwark Council
VALUE: £1.8 million
|
A major redevelopment of waste land into a vibrant outdoor play and activity centre for the local community. After a period of extensive ground works and site preparation we began constructing the offices of the local social outreach workers and an indoor leisure centre including a 30’ climbing wall and activity rooms. The entire structure was buried beneath a landscaped hill that supports the slide visible in the picture above.
The 5 acre site contains a wide range of facilities including a toddler’s play area, a floodlit 5 aside football pitch, adventure areas and landscaped picnic areas.
Close attention was paid to the landscaping and choice of plants, creating a low maintenance and practical community area.
